Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued a nowcast warning for several districts in Odisha, predicting thunderstorms and strong winds in the next three hours.
According to the warning issued by the IMD at 2:15 PM, Koraput district is expected to experience moderate thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds of 40-50 kmph, which may cause minor damage to loose structures and standing crops. Residents are advised to be prepared for worsening conditions and move to safer places if necessary.
Also, a yellow alert has been issued for Nuapada, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, and Rayagada districts, warning. These districts are likely to experience light to moderate thunderstorms with gusty winds of 30-40 kmph and lightning.
