Bhubaneswar: A minor girl was brutally hacked to death in her home in Karapalli village under Gopalpur police station in Ganjam district, on Thursday morning.
According to reports, a youth from the Jatni police station area in Khurda district, allegedly obsessed with the victim, entered her residence and attacked her with a sharp weapon. The assailant inflicted severe injuries on the girl’s hands and body, leaving her bloodied body inside the house.
The family alleges that the murder was motivated by the youth’s unrequited affection for the girl. They further claim to have previously lodged a complaint against the accused with the police, citing harassment.
On being informed, Gopalpur police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
