Bhubaneswar: Ganjam police on Tuesday issued a public advisory ahead of a civil defence mock drill scheduled for Wednesday (May 7) at Gopalpur Port and IREL Chatrapur.
The exercise aims to assess the preparedness of civil defence personnel and other emergency response agencies.
The advisory was issued as per instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs, which has called for a nationwide Civil Defence Mock Drill on May 7, 2025.
According to the statement, the simulation will include preparedness exercises for potential air raids and will involve the use of sirens to alert residents in the surrounding areas.
“The simulation will test preparedness for air raids and will include the use of sirens to alert the local population. This is a routine exercise to assess the capacity of civil defence and is NOT an indication of war or any actual threat. Please do not panic or spread rumours,” the advisory clarified.
