Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal has expressed its party’s unwavering support for Operation Sindoor, a military operation conducted by the Indian Armed Forces against terrorism. Patra commended the forces for their “extraordinary courage, clinical precision, and gallant professionalism” in carrying out the operation.
Speaking after an all-party meeting convened by the Central government, BJD MP Sasmit Patra stated that the BJD wholeheartedly supports the armed forces in taking any action necessary to defend India from terrorism. The meeting was held to brief political leaders on the ongoing tensions with Pakistan following India’s military operation that targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Patra reiterated the BJD’s firm, steadfast, and resolute support for the armed forces in safeguarding the sovereignty of the nation and protecting the lives of citizens from terrorism. The party’s stance aligns with its president Naveen Patnaik’s statement, which was presented in the meeting.
“The BJD reiterates its firm, steadfast, and resolute support for our armed forces in taking whatever steps deemed necessary to safeguard the sovereignty of our nation and protect the lives of our citizens from terrorism. This was our President’s statement, and the same was presented on the floor of the House,” he added.
The all-party meeting was attended by several leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi, among others. The meeting aimed to brief political parties on India’s action on cross-border terrorism.
