Bhubaneswar: Odisha districts are reeling under severe heatwave conditions, with Jharsuguda recording a temperature of 35°C at 8:30 am.
According to the data provided by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientist, Uma Shankar Das, Sambalpur and Hirakud recorded 34.4°C at 8:30 am, while Rourkela recorded 33.6°C.
That apart, Chandbali and Puri recorded 32.6°C while Bhubaneswar, the state Capital, recorded 32.4°C. Balasore and Keonjhar recorded 32.2°C.
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a red alert for 13 districts in Odisha, warning of severe hot and humid conditions today.
The districts under alert are Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
