Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cabinet has approved the implementation of the state scheme ‘MAMATA’ in convergence with the central government’s ‘Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana’ (PMMVY) under the co-branding ‘MAMATA-PMMVY’ from April 1, 2025.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries will receive Rs 12,000 for the birth of a girl child and Rs 10,000 for the birth of a boy child. Women from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) will receive Rs 12,000 for a girl child and Rs 10,000 for a boy child for all live births.
The scheme also increases the incentive amount for Anganwadi Workers and Helpers to Rs 250 and Rs 150, respectively. The eligibility criteria for the PMMVY scheme will be applicable to the MAMATA-PMMVY scheme. The state government expects to spend around Rs 2,670 crores on the scheme over the next five years.
