Cuttack: A devastating fire broke out at a biscuit manufacturing unit in Jagatpur’s New Industrial Estate on Saturday, destroying machinery, raw materials, and goods worth over ₹1 crore. The incident occurred allegedly due to an electrical short circuit.
Factory owner Durga Madhab Panigrahi, who suffered injuries while attempting to douse the flames, informed that critical equipment and stored ingredients were completely gutted. Firefighters rushed to the spot upon receiving the alert and brought the blaze under control after strenuous efforts.
Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire and assess the full extent of the damage. Police and Fire department officials are coordinating to ensure safety protocols were followed.
