CM Majhi To Launch Rs 1.14 Lakh Cr Industrial Projects In Jajpur On May 22

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will lay the foundation stone for 12 major projects and inaugurate four others in Jajpur on May 22, Industries Minister Sampad Swain announced on Saturday.

The projects, with a combined investment value of ₹1.14 lakh crore, are expected to generate around 34,000 employment opportunities in the state.

Swain said the projects include investments pledged during the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave, where ₹63,000 crore worth of MoUs were signed for Jajpur district alone.

A major highlight of the event will be the groundbreaking ceremony for Tata’s ₹61,000 crore investment plan in the region. The Industries Minister emphasized the state government’s commitment to turning Odisha into a leading industrial powerhouse. He assured that the MoUs signed during the conclave would not remain confined to paperwork but would be executed on the ground.

Swain also noted that industrial giants like JSW and Vedanta have shown strong interest in expanding their footprint in Odisha.

The upcoming event follows the Chief Minister’s recent groundbreaking of 13 industrial projects in Khordha last month, which marked a significant push toward establishing Odisha as a major industrial hub.

Back in February, during his budget speech, CM Majhi had unveiled a comprehensive industrial development strategy. The plan outlined Odisha’s ambitions to become a major manufacturing destination, with a strong focus on mines and mineral-based industries to fuel economic growth.

These developments are part of a larger investment push, following the state’s receipt of 593 investment proposals worth ₹16.73 lakh crore across 20 sectors during the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave.
