Kathajodi Drowning: Body Of Second Engineer Recovered

Bhubaneswar: The body of one of the two youths who drowned in the Kathajodi River near Sector-11 in Cuttack’s CDA area on Sunday afternoon was recovered today, a day after the incident.

According to reports, the two engineers were bathing in the river when they slipped and fell into a deep pit near a stone pillar around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. The deceased were identified as engineers employed with L&T Company, working on the expansion project of SCB Medical College and Hospital.

The body of Rushikesh Matal, one of the two engineers who drowned, was recovered yesterday, and the body of the second engineer was recovered this morning.

It is learnt that Rushikesh Matal and the other engineer were from Maharashtra.

The CDA Phase II police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are looking into the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
