Dhenkanal: In a significant development for mango farmers in Dhenkanal district, Odisha, the Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) has successfully supplied 1.5 metric tons of Amrapali and Mallika mangoes to Mother Diary, New Delhi.
This supply is part of an institutional tie-up between ORMAS and Mother Diary-Saffal, New Delhi, for mango marketing.
A workshop on Post Harvest Management of Mango was organized by ORMAS, Dhenkanal, in association with Mother Diary, New Delhi, on May 16 to ensure quality and proper handling of the mangoes. The supply was facilitated through the FPO-Dkl Innovative Farmer Producer Company, Hindol, Dhenkanal.
According to Aswini Parida, Deputy CEO of ORMAS, Dhenkanal, this year, a total of 10 metric tons of Dhenkanal mangoes will be supplied to Mother Diary, New Delhi.
Moreover, there are plans to export Dhenkanal mangoes to international markets, further expanding the reach and opportunities for local farmers.
