Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today reviewed the progress of the PM Janman Yojana, being implemented statewide, at the Lokseva Bhawan.

During the review meeting, the Chief Minister directed all secretaries present to visit every remote area in the 14 districts where the scheme is being implemented and assess the situation on the ground.

He also instructed District Collectors and departmental officers at the district level to visit each identified village and habitation, evaluate the conditions, and submit reports.

It is noteworthy that the PM Janman Yojana covers 14 districts of Odisha, including 55 blocks, 1,751 villages/habitations, 289 gram panchayats, and 2 municipal areas, benefiting a total of 68,605 families and 3,14,514 people.

The meeting revealed that by the end of 2026, the targets include constructing 45,408 houses, building approximately 210 kilometers of paved roads under the Rural Development Department, providing tap water to 1,646 villages, establishing mobile tower connectivity in 351 areas, constructing hostels for students in 405 areas, and setting up 74 multipurpose centers.

The Chief Minister advised completing all tasks within the stipulated timeline. For habitations in the 14 districts that do not have a community health center within 5 kilometers, the goal is to provide mobile medical units.

It was reported that mobile medical units have been provided to all 1,055 such habitations, achieving 100% success in this regard, and the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction with this progress. Particularly for the tribal communities residing in PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group) areas, the Chief Minister directed all secretaries to expedite the completion of water supply, electricity, mobile connectivity, and other initiatives.

He also instructed the Chief Secretary, along with other Secretaries, to visit inaccessible or remote areas to ensure that work is completed within the designated timeframe.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department Deoranjan Kumar Singh, and Secretaries from various departments.
