Jharsuguda: A Special POCSO Court in Jharsuguda sentenced one Kosher Badi, a private tutor, to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) on Saturday for raping a minor girl in 2022.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Badi, with an additional year of imprisonment in case of failure to pay the fine.
The incident occurred in the Badmal area of Jharsuguda district. Badi, who was employed as a private tutor, allegedly lured the minor girl to his residence under the pretext of providing tuition. On the day of the crime, he showed her pornographic videos before forcibly raping her.
The court’s verdict was based on a thorough examination of 58 documents and the testimonies of 27 witnesses.
