Bhubaneswar: The “Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan” is being launched with the aim of creating innovation in agriculture by taking the significant agricultural initiatives of the Central Government to the grassroots level.
According to an official press release, this campaign will run across the country from 29th of May to 12th of June. The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan will be launched from the historic city of Puri in Odisha.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the campaign through virtual mode.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Fisheries and Animal Resource Development Minister Gokulananda Mallick will join the program.
A preparatory meeting was held today at the conference hall of Krushi Bhavan under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Farmer Empowerment and Energy Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. Principal Secretary Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee was also present.
Preparations for the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, which will start from the 29th, have reached the final stage, said Dr. Padhee.
The esteemed guests, including the Union Agriculture Minister, will first visit Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri and then join the Trirangayatra.
The campaign will be launched at Birgobindapur Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Sakhigopal. The Krishi Ratha will also be flagged off. Later, he will join the CIFA program.
Apart from this, he will also join Mango festival at Central Horticultural Experiment Station, and the OUAT program. All the programs includes planting of trees under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
A large number of students, farmers will participate in all these programs.
The preparatory meeting was attended by Director of Agriculture Shubham Saxena, OUAT Vice Chancellor Dr. Prabhat Kumar Roul, Director CIFA, IIHR-CHES, ICAR, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dean OUAT and other senior officials.
