CM Majhi Congratulates Weightlifter Harshvardhan On ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Mention

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated young weightlifter Harshvardhan Sahu on his national recognition in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

Harshvardhan’s impressive performance in the Khelo India Youth Games, where he won a gold medal, has made every Odia proud. The Chief Minister praised Harshvardhan’s achievement, saying it showcases the immense potential of Odisha’s youth in sports.

Majhi assured continued government support, promising world-class training and infrastructure to help athletes excel globally. He hopes Harshvardhan’s success inspires thousands of young sportspersons across Odisha to pursue their dreams passionately and determinedly.

CM’s tweet reads: “Heartiest congratulations to Odisha’s young weightlifting champion, Master Harshvardhan Sahu, on earning national recognition in PM Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’. His Khelo India gold medal and this prestigious mention make every Odia proud. Harshvardhan’s achievement reflects the immense potential of our state’s youth in sports. The Odisha government will continue to provide world-class training and infrastructure to help our athletes excel globally. May his success inspire thousands of young sportspersons across Odisha to pursue their dreams with passion and determination.”

It is pertinent to mention that a total of 26 records were made in Khelo India this time. In the weightlifting competitions, the brilliant performances of Asmita Dhone of Maharashtra, Harshvardhan Sahu of Odisha, and Tushar Chaudhary of Uttar Pradesh won everyone’s hearts.

In the weightlifting 49-kilogram class, Harshvardhan set a new record in the Khelo India Youth Games with a gold in the clean and jerk category, lifting 115 kilograms.
