Odisha IPS Association Mourns Demise Of Former IPS Officer Kulamani Deo

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha IPS Association expressed profound grief over the passing of former IPS officer Kulamani Deo. A condolence meeting was held this afternoon at the Commissionerate Police conference hall, chaired by Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania.

According to an official press note, during the meeting, floral tributes were offered to a portrait of the late Deo, followed by a moment of silent prayer for the eternal peace of his soul. The association also extended its heartfelt condolences to Deo’s family.

Kulamani Deo was widely respected as a highly competent IPS officer, earning acclaim across Odisha for his exemplary service. Throughout his career, he served in various significant roles, performing his duties with utmost efficiency and contributing to the prestige of the Odisha Police.

DGP Khurania described Deo’s demise as an irreparable loss to society, sharing fond memories of his association with the late officer and praying for his soul’s peace while expressing solidarity with his family.

The event began with Additional DGP (Modernisation) and IPS Association Secretary Soumendra Priyadarshi highlighting Deo’s distinguished career. Senior police officers present included DGP (Prisons and Correctional Services) Sushant Kumar Nath, DGP (Crime Branch) Vinaytosh Mishra, Director (SCRB) Santosh Bala, Additional DGP (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar, Police Commissioner (Bhubaneswar-Cuttack) S. Devadatta Singh, Additional DGP (Headquarters) Pratik Mohanty, and Additional Police Commissioner Narasingh Bhol, among others.

The program was coordinated by Additional DGP Soumendra Priyadarshi, and the vote of thanks was delivered by the association’s Working President and IGP (Crime Branch) Sarthak Sarangi.
