Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department of Odisha has released the State-Wide Merit List for the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET-2025), marking a crucial step in the postgraduate admission process across the state.
According to an official press release, the results were made available to candidates at 4:00 PM today on the official SAMS PG portal.
Organised by the State Selection Board, CPET-2025 witnessed strong participation this year. Out of 62,321 applicants who registered for the entrance examination, 56,976 appeared, while 6,345 were marked absent. All candidates who appeared have been declared eligible for the selection process. A total of 116 postgraduate higher education institutions across Odisha are participating in the admission cycle, offering a combined sanctioned seat strength of 30,802.
With the merit list now live, the admission process enters its next phase. Starting from June 3 and continuing until June 8, eligible candidates can log in to the SAMS PG portal to exercise their choice filling options.
During this period, applicants may select their preferred universities, colleges, and subjects based on the marks they secured in the entrance examination. The portal also displays subject-wise and category-wise ranks to assist candidates in making informed choices.
The department has advised all candidates to visit the SAMS PG portal regularly and complete the choice filling process within the stipulated timeline to ensure smooth progression to the next stage. Following the choice filling round, the provisional allotment of seats for the first round will be published on June 13 at 4:00 PM.
The CPET-2025 cycle is being closely monitored to ensure transparency, timely updates, and a seamless experience for thousands of postgraduate aspirants across Odisha.
