Bhubaneswar: The State government has launched a thorough investigation into the death of Sunima Pradhan, a pregnant woman who died at Daringibadi Community Health Center in Kandhamal district. A team of senior experts from Kandhamal Medical College and Hospital has been formed to probe the incident, and their report is expected within 7 days.
According to reports, Sunima Pradhan, wife of Surendra Pradhan from Kajuri Paderi village, was rushed to the CHC with severe stomach pain on Tuesday. The on-duty doctor administered injections and saline, but she passed away shortly after. Her husband alleges that the doctor’s negligence led to her death, claiming that the wrong injection was given.
The hospital authorities stated that Sunima’s oxygen saturation was critically low when she was admitted, and the doctor administered saline with oxygen. They claim that the patient’s husband didn’t inform them about her pregnancy initially.
