Cuttack: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania on Monday felicitated Constable Anupama Swain for her remarkable achievement at the 9th Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship held recently in Amman, Jordan.

According to an official press release, in a special ceremony organized at the State Police Headquarters, DGP Khurania commended Anupama for her outstanding performance and dedication to the sport. He presented her with a cash incentive award and extended his best wishes for her future sporting journey, lauding her as a shining example of excellence within the Odisha Police.

The event was attended by senior police officials, including Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Pratik Mohanty, DIG (Personnel) Jugal Kishore Banoth, and AIG (Headquarters) Suresh Chandra Naik, who also praised Anupama’s achievements.

Anupama Swain represented India at the 9th Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship, held from May 23 to 25 in Jordan, where she clinched a silver medal in the Contact (under 52 kg) category and a bronze medal in the Fighting System (under 52 kg) category. Her success brought immense pride to the Odisha Police and the state at large.

Currently posted as a constable in the Bhubaneswar Urban Police District, Anupama has consistently distinguished herself in national and international martial arts competitions. Her track record includes several medals that continue to highlight her commitment, resilience, and discipline—values that reflect positively on the Odisha Police.
