Bhubaneswar: Celebrated Odia sprinter Srabani Nanda, a key member of the Indian women’s 4×100 metre relay team that clinched silver at the Asian Athletics Championship 2025, was honoured today by the Odisha Sports and Youth Services Department.
In a ceremony held in Bhubaneswar, Srabani was felicitated with a cash prize of ₹2.5 lakh in recognition of her stellar performance on the international stage.
The event was marked by a sense of pride and celebration as Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj personally congratulated Srabani. Commending her for her dedication and athletic excellence, the Minister noted that her success would serve as an inspiration for budding athletes across Odisha, particularly young women aspiring to make a mark in sports. “Srabani’s achievement is not just a personal milestone, but a moment of pride for the entire state. Her journey will motivate a new generation of athletes to pursue excellence,” he said.
