Man Killed, Another Injured In Road Accident In Jharsuguda

Bhubaneswar: A man was killed and another sustained serious injuries in a road accident near Brundamal Railway Station in Jharsuguda on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Surendra Bhoi, a resident of Hirma village in the district.

According to reports, Bhoi was cycling from his village to Jharsuguda when he was hit from behind by a poultry-laden pick-up van coming from Sambalpur.

The impact killed Bhoi on the spot. The pick-up van subsequently lost control and rammed into a parked lorry, leaving the driver of the van critically injured.

On being alerted, Badmal police reached the spot, seized both vehicles, and rushed the injured driver to the Jharsuguda district headquarters hospital (DHH).
