Bhubaneswar: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2025 or NEET (UG) 2025 has brought pride to Odisha with Snehasis Das emerging as the state’s top performer.

The Bhubaneswar-based student has secured an outstanding All India Rank (AIR) 60, scoring a percentile of 99.9972390 in the highly competitive national-level examination.

Set to join the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for his MBBS, Snehasis has his sights firmly set on a career in neurosurgery—a dream he has pursued with unwavering determination since his early school days.

“There are no shortcuts to success in NEET,” Snehasis said, addressing the media after the results were announced. “Consistency is key. I made it a habit to study 5 to 7 hours every day, balancing school and coaching. That discipline helped me stay on track.”

He stressed the importance of mock tests and self-study for aspirants.

“Be positive, stay dedicated, and never lose hope. Regular practice and revision matter far more than long, irregular study hours,” he advised.

Snehasis’s fascination with the human brain began at a young age. Watching medical videos on YouTube introduced him to the world of neurology and sparked a deep interest in the field.

“From Class 6 or 7, I was drawn to brain surgeries and neurological science. That is when I decided I wanted to become a neurosurgeon,” he shared.

Though his parents do not come from a medical background, his inspiration came from his grandfather, an Ayurvedic doctor.

“He often spoke about medicine and the life of a doctor. Those early conversations made me curious about anatomy and the medical profession,” he said.

Unlike many NEET aspirants who study late into the night, Snehasis preferred a more balanced routine.

“I usually sleep by 1 am everyone has their own rhythm, but what really matters is studying consistently—7 to 8 hours a day worked best for me,” he noted.

With a disciplined approach, strong mentorship, and clear ambition, Snehasis Das now begins a new chapter at AIIMS. His journey stands as an inspiration to thousands of students across the country dreaming of a career in medicine.
