Burglars Decamp

Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly decamped with gold, silver, pearl jewellery, and cash worth approximately Rs 5 lakh from a residence in Niladri Vihar under Chandrasekharpur police limits in Bhubaneswar.

According to sources, the burglary took place while the family was away in Puri for the Raja festival. The accused reportedly gained entry by breaking a window and ransacked the house.

“Gold ornaments, a significant amount of silver items, and several pearl sets were stolen,” the house owner said.

The family discovered the break-in upon returning from Puri and immediately alerted the police.

On receiving information, a team from Chandrasekharpur police station reached the spot and initiated a probe. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to trace the culprits.
