Odisha Crime Branch To Investigate Gopalpur Beach Gang-Rape Case

Bhubaneswar: The State Crime Branch has taken over the investigation of the gang-rape case at Gopalpur Beach in Ganjam, Odisha. The case will be investigated as a “Red Flag” case, indicating its high-priority nature.

As per the direction of DGP Odisha, Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, the Crime Against Women and Children Wing of CID-CB, Odisha Police, will lead the investigation. A team of CAW & CW has already reached Gopalpur to begin the investigation.

The case is being investigated under the supervision of IG Shyni S, IPS, Crime Against Women & Children Wing (CAW & CW). The investigation will be conducted under sections 71/296/351(3)/310(2) BNS.
