Cuttack: A devastating incident has occurred in the Baramba block of Cuttack district, where a 55-year-old woman and her daughter-in-law (29) died after consuming poison. The deceased have been identified as Nibasi Senapati (55), the mother-in-law, and Sangita Senapati (29), the daughter-in-law.

According to reports,  the two women and the son, Bhagirathi Senapati, consumed poison together late last night. They were rushed to the Baramba health centre in critical condition, where Nibasi was declared dead on arrival. Sangita was later shifted to the Athagarh Sub-divisional Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Bhagirathi is currently undergoing treatment at the Baramba hospital in critical condition.

The Baramba Police have registered two separate cases of death and are investigating the incident. While the exact reason behind the poisoning is still unknown, it is suspected that family issues might have led to the tragic incident. The police are yet to confirm the motive behind the incident and are continuing their investigation.
