Bhubaneswar: The Income Tax Department has launched a massive raid on various properties linked to late Naba Das, a former minister, across multiple locations.
According to reports, the raids began at 5 am today and are being conducted simultaneously at 19 locations, including Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, and Delhi. The searches are focused on the former minister’s business dealings and financial transactions. His family members, including Dipali Das and Visal Das, are under scrutiny.
Dipali Das was returning from Puri when the raid started, while Visal Das is currently in Delhi.
The Income Tax team is examining documents related to transportation and other business activities. This development comes as part of an investigation into alleged tax evasion and financial irregularities linked to the former minister’s businesses.
The raids are being carried out by a large team of officials, including 120 Income Tax officers, 40 CRPF personnel, and a scientific team, supported by 60 vehicles deployed across various sites.
