Bhubaneswar: After spending several days in the Anasara Gruha due to illness, Lord Jagannath and his siblings are swiftly recovering. On Ekadashi, the deities will be offered Dasamula Modaka, a herbal medicine prepared by the Raj Vaidya.
As per reports, after the grand Snana Purnima bath, Lord Jagannath and his siblings have fallen sick and taken refuge in the Anasara Ghara for treatment. As part of their recovery, the deities are being administered various herbal medicines. However, the final and most crucial remedy is the Dasamula Modak, believed to completely cure the Lords of their ailments.
On this Ekadashi, the 11th day of the Anasara period, special rituals are performed to aid the deities’ recovery. A soothing paste made from sandalwood and aromatic compounds is applied to the idols, symbolising their gradual return to health.
As per tradition, the Lords are adorned in traditional Rakta Bastra attire, and the Dasamula Modak is offered to mark the final stage of their treatment. This ritual is expected to restore the deities to full health, paving the way for their return to the sanctum sanctorum.
On Dwadashi tithi, tomorrow, a grand procession will be held to share the joyous news of the deities’ recovery with Puri Gajapati Maharaj. This ritual, known as Raja Prasad Bije, will be performed with traditional fervour tomorrow.
