Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik is doing well after undergoing a successful surgery for cervical arthritis at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.
His elder brother, Prem Patnaik, shared the message through a video clip, expressing gratitude to the people of Odisha for their outpouring of prayers and good wishes for the former chief minister.
In a video, Prem Patnaik said that Naveen is in stable condition and fully conscious. He is under medical observation.
“He’s doing very well, walking a little bit, just a few steps to the bathroom,” Prem added. The surgery, performed by a team of doctors under the direct supervision of noted cardiologist Dr. Ramakanta Panda, lasted around two hours without complications.
Prem Patnaik lauded the people of Odisha, saying their love and concern were a source of strength during the family’s testing times.
