Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch will take six accused on remand in the Gopalpur gangrape case. The court has granted a one-day remand, allowing the Crime Branch to interrogate the accused and gather more information about the heinous crime.
The accused being taken on remand are Kunal Pradhan from Patpur village, Baburam Dalai from Barupada village, Lakshman Pradhan from Barupada, Om Pradhan from Sikiri village, Deepak Tarai and Pramod Nayak from Purushottampur.
The Crime Branch will interrogate them during the remand period to gather more information and evidence related to the case.
As per the case diary, a total of 10 persons including four minors have been arrested in connection with the Gopalpur gangrape case, including four minors. According to the preliminary investigation, three of the six adult accused allegedly raped the victim, while the others assisted them in committing the crime.
The Crime Branch has collected CCTV footage from liquor shops and stores in the Gopalpur area to gather evidence and build a strong case against the accused.
