Bhubaneswar: After recuperating at Anasara Ghara for a fortnight, cured sibling deities have stepped out for Naba Jaubana Besha at Puri Jagannath temple.
After the Anasara period, two significant rituals take place: Naba Jaubana Darshan and Netroutsav. The Naba Jaubana Besha is a significant ritual because it is held to celebrate the rejuvenation of sibling deities Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra. During this ceremony, the Daitas perform a ritualistic bath and repaint the bodies of sibling deities, excluding their eyes, to symbolize his renewed vitality and youthful appearance.
According to reports, in a spectacular display of devotion and tradition, the Dutta Mahapatra servitors successfully conducted the Banaka Lagi rituals on Wednesday. As the countdown to the Rath Yatra 2025 begins, the sacred city of Puri is buzzing with excitement. Meanwhile, the temple administration has thoughtfully arranged for devotees to witness Naba Jaubana besha of Trinity in an orderly manner.
Devotees can catch a glimpse of the divine Lords during the specially designated darshan periods. The ticketed darshan took place from 8 am to 9 am, while the public darshan is being held from 9 am to 10:30 am.
As we all know that immediately after the day of Snana Purnima, the deities remain secluded for 15 days. On the eve of the Ratha Yatra they are gorgeously dressed and decorated and give darsan to the visitors. They put on very charming robes and look like persons at the commencement of their youth (Nava Jaubana).
