Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep grief over the demise of three young women in an accident near Pipili. He has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the next of kin of each deceased.
Three young women, identified as Rimjhim Priyadarshani Sahu (20), Elena Das (20), and Kajal Das (20), were killed after a government-run bus ran over them on the Bhubaneswar-Puri National Highway No. 317 near Tarakaj.
They were travelling to Puri on a scooter to attend the Rath Yatra festivities. The incident occurred when their scooter slightly collided with another vehicle, causing them to fall, and a state government-run bus coming from behind lost control and ran over them.
The bus fled the scene, leaving the victims in a pool of blood. The Chief Minister extended his condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased.
