Bhubaneswar: Two persons sustained critical injuries after they were allegedly attacked with swords over a petty reason at Chhatrapur in Ganjam district on Wednesday morning.
According to reports, the victims, Rinki Behera and Bhima Tarei, were attacked by miscreants wielding swords near Telugu Nuagaon.
The attack occurred when Rinki Behera, who had earlier filed a police complaint regarding a dispute, was returning home with her neighbor Bhima Tarei. The assailants intercepted them near Rinki’s residence and attacked them using sharp weapons. Locals rushed to their aid, rescuing the victims and took them to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
Upon being informed, Ganjam police have initiated an inquiry into the incident and are conducting searches to identify and apprehend the attackers.
Both the victims Rinki and Bhima sustained multiple injuries and remain under observation at MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
