Bhubaneswar: In a disturbing incident highlighting the growing risks associated with social media stunts, three minors from Boudh district have landed in trouble after filming a dangerous reels lying on active railway tracks as a train passed overhead.
The incident occurred near Dalupali, close to Purunapani Station in the Manmunda area, and was captured on mobile by one of the minors involved. The video shows one boy lying flat on the tracks while a train approaches with its siren blaring, while another minor records the act from outside the tracks. A third friend is seen directing the risky stunt.
The shocking video, which was later uploaded to social media, has triggered widespread concern and backlash, especially as train services were only recently introduced in Boudh district after a long wait. The stunt has now become a topic of public outrage and discussion.
Taking serious note of the incident, the Bolangir Railway Police acted swiftly and detained the three minors involved. They are currently being interrogated, and further action is likely to follow. Authorities have reiterated that such reckless acts not only endanger lives but also violate railway safety laws.
Officials have urged parents and guardians to monitor children’s online behavior and warned youth against filming stunts on railway property, calling it life-threatening and illegal.
