Bhubaneswar: The nomination process for the election of the Odisha BJP President began today at the state party office. The process is being overseen by election officer Pratap Sarangi and central observer Sanjay Jaiswal.
According to reports, the nomination process commenced at 12:30 pm and will continue until 3:30 pm. After scrutiny of the nominations, the final list of candidates will be published by 4:30 pm. If necessary, voting will take place on July 8 from 9 am to 11 am, and the final results, along with the name of the new president, will be declared by 11:30 am.
Speculations are rife about the next BJP president in Odisha, with possibilities of either Manmohan Samal retaining the position or a new face taking over. Names of potential candidates being floated include Pradeep Purohit, Sukanta Panigrahi, and Golak Mohapatra.
As of the latest report, no nominations have been submitted for the Odisha BJP presidential election.
The election process will involve 273 delegates from 37 organizational districts, including district presidents and state council members. A Rajya Sabha MP, two Lok Sabha MPs, and five BJP MLAs will also participate in the election process.
