Bhubaneswar: A serious security breach has come to the fore at the Puri Jagannath Temple, where four youths allegedly scaled the Meghanada Pacheri and entered the premises on Wednesday despite the presence of a large number of security personnel deployed both inside and outside the temple premises from Rath Yatra to Niladri Bije.

According to sources, four youths reportedly climbed onto a pile of garbage near the southern gate of the temple and then scaled the Meghanada Pacheri wall to gain entry into the temple premises.

The incident has sparked an investigation into the security lapse, with questions being raised about the effectiveness of the security arrangements.

The purpose behind the youths’ actions remains unclear, and it is yet to be determined whether the security personnel were aware of the breach or if there was a lapse in security protocols.

The disturbing visuals of youths scaling the southern gate wall of the Puri Jagannath Temple and entering the inner complex have sent shockwaves among devotees. The incident has sparked widespread concern, with devotees questioning how such a security breach could occur under the watchful eyes of the temple’s tight surveillance system.
