Bhubaneswar: The Congress party is gearing up to host its ‘Samvidhan Bachao Rally’ in Bhubaneswar on July 11, with Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, and General Secretary KC Venugopal in attendance. However, the party is facing uncertainty due to the ongoing drivers’ strike in the state.
PCC President Bhaktacharan Das expressed concerns that the strike could impact the rally’s success, as a large number of people are expected to attend from rural areas across the state. Despite the challenges, the State Congress has left no stone unturned to make the event a success.
He appealed to the drivers not to stop vehicles coming to the rally, assuring them of the Congress party’s support in their demands. Das also warned that if the government fails to resolve the drivers’ issues, the Congress party will support the strike at the district and block levels in the state.
“We are with the drivers. You should cooperate with us tomorrow. If the government fails to resolve your issues, the Congress party will support the strike at the district and block level in the state,” Das said while appealing to the driver Mahasangha.
Das accused the BJP government of conspiring against the Congress and deliberately not resolving the drivers’ agitation to disrupt the rally.
The Congress party is hopeful that the rally will create a new political atmosphere in Odisha, with people eagerly waiting to hear Rahul Gandhi’s speech. The party is determined to make the event a success despite the challenges posed by the drivers’ strike.
