Man Killed In Lightning Strike In Mayrubhanj

Baripada: A 39-year-old man was killed by a lightning strike on Saturday while working in his field. The deceased was identified as Dactar Bindhani, a resident of Tulukuchun village under the Shuliapada police station in Mayurbhanj district.

According to reports, Bindhani had gone to the field for farming in the afternoon when a thunderstorm accompanied by heavy rain hit the area. During the storm, he was struck by lightning and fell unconscious in the field.

Locals rushed him to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where the doctor declared him dead. The police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the incident.
