Bhubaneswar: The Principal of Fakir Mohan College in Balasore, Dillip Ghosh, who has been suspended in connection with a student’s self-immolation attempt, has sought security citing a threat to his life. Ghosh has written to the District Collector seeking security as he has been directed to report to the Collector’s office from tomorrow.
“I have requested the Collector to provide security as I will report to the Collector’s office from tomorrow. As the situation is tense, I want security for my life. I will fully cooperate with the investigation. I am present at the college to cooperate with the probe team, which is coming to the college for investigation,” Ghosh said.
The state government has suspended the principal along with the Head of the Department of Educational Studies. The HOD has also been arrested for allegedly harassing the girl, which forced her to take such a drastic step. The girl is currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, where a team of experts from various departments is treating her. She has been put on ventilator support.
