Bhubaneswar: Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling and Higher Education Minister Suraj Suryabanshi, along with MLA Babu Singh, visited AIIMS-Bhubaneswar today to enquire about the health condition of the FM College girl who is undergoing treatment in critical condition after attempting self-immolation on campus.
The Health Minister stated that saving the girl’s life is the government’s top priority. “A team of experts has been formed to treat the victim. We have discussed with the AIIMS Director, Health Director, and the treating doctors. The best possible treatment is being provided to the patient in the ICU. We also met with the family members of the victim and assured them of all possible support,” Mahaling said.
Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj added, “We have discussed with the doctors regarding the health condition of the girl. The government will not hesitate to take strict action against those found guilty. The probe committee, formed under the chairmanship of the Higher Education Department director, will visit Balasore for an on-field investigation. Based on the committee’s report, the government will initiate action accordingly.”
The Health Minister also informed that Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will shortly visit AIIMS-Bhubaneswar to enquire about the victim’s health. Currently, the girl is being treated in the ICU of the special burn ward at AIIMS, where a team of eight doctors is attending to her.
