Bhubaneswar: India successfully test-fired two short-range ballistic missiles, Prithvi-II and Agni-I, from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur in Balasore on Thursday.  The Ministry of Defence confirmed that all operational and technical parameters were validated during the launches, which were conducted under the Strategic Forces Command’s aegis.

The Prithvi-II missile is a nuclear-capable, surface-to-surface missile with a range of 350 km. It features liquid propulsion twin engines and an advanced inertial guidance system with a maneuvering trajectory.

These tests demonstrate India’s operational readiness and validate the reliability of its deterrent component. The successful launches showcase the country’s strategic capabilities, with the tests being monitored by the Defence Research and Development Organisation and conducted by the Strategic Forces Command.
