Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MPs on Monday visited AIIMS Delhi to meet 15-year-old girl from Balanga in Puri district, who is battling for life after suffering 75% burn injuries. The MPs enquired about her condition and assured all possible support.
The teenager was set ablaze by three unidentified assailants while returning home from a friend’s residence in Balanga early Saturday morning.
She was initially admitted to the government hospital at Pipili Community Health Centre (CHC) before being shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar. On Sunday, she was airlifted to AIIMS Delhi for advanced treatment.
The hospital bulletin issued on Sunday stated that her condition remains critical.
The BJD MPs delegation at AIIMS Delhi included Sasmit Patra, Manas Ranjan Mangaraj, Sulata Deo, and Niranjan Bishi. During their visit, they met the victim, held discussions with the attending medical team, and assured the family of all possible assistance.
