Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday chaired the 13th session of the Chief Minister’s Grievance Redressal Programme at the state grievance cell in Unit-2, Bhubaneswar.

As in previous sessions, the Chief Minister arrived in the morning and first met differently-abled citizens waiting outside the grievance cell, personally receiving their petitions and assuring them of appropriate action. He then proceeded to listen to complaints from registered citizens inside the cell, issuing immediate instructions to senior officials for resolution.

The session saw significant participation from the state cabinet, with nine senior ministers joining the Chief Minister in hearing public grievances. Additional Chief Secretaries and department-level secretaries were also present, facilitating swift responses to the complaints raised.

A large number of people had gathered at the venue from early morning, many of whom expressed satisfaction after their direct interaction with the Chief Minister and ministers. Several complainants said they felt reassured by the government’s commitment to addressing their concerns promptly.

A medical team was stationed at the venue to support individuals in need of emergency assistance.

Through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and the Single Window System, three individuals suffering from serious illnesses received immediate financial assistance for their treatment. Since the beginning of this year, the government has extended financial support amounting to ₹55 lakh to 51 individuals through this mechanism.

The state government’s grievance redressal initiative has so far received 11,516 complaints, out of which 10,502 have been successfully resolved, reflecting a resolution rate of 91 percent. The remaining cases are currently under review and action is being taken accordingly.

Also present at the session were senior bureaucrats including Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration and Public Grievance Department Surendra Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department Deoranjan Kumar Singh, and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Saswat Mishra. Their presence underscored the administration’s coordinated approach in ensuring that complaints are handled efficiently and empathetically.

The session reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to participatory governance, with the Chief Minister once again placing people’s concerns at the centre of administrative action.
