Balangir DEO Withholds Salaries Of 11 BEOs Over Failure To Meet Tree Planting Targets

Bhubaneswar: The District Education Officer (DEO) of Balangir has withheld July salaries for 11 Block Education Officers (BEOs) due to their alleged failure to expedite the implementation of the government yojana ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.

According to reports, the DEO of Balangir has withheld the salary of 11 BEOs as they failed to meet tree planting targets under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam programme.

The DEO Pradeep Nag, in a letter to the District Treasury and Sub-Treasury Officers, has made it clear that the salaries will be released only after the successful implementation of the programme.

The DEO has instructed the District Treasury and Sub-Treasury Officers to withhold the salaries of these BEOs until further orders.

As per the DEO’s instruction, District Treasury Officers will release the salaries only after the BEOs demonstrate significant progress in achieving the programme’s objectives.

The BEOs who faced the music include Shyam Meher, Dilip Joshi, Arttatrana Rath, Mamata Mahadik, Namita Rani Bhoi, Baikuntha Sabar, Santanu Padhihari, Gautam Patel, Abhinab Mishra, Shankar Prasad Majhi, and Ratnmay Purohit.
