Bhubaneswar: A massive corruption probe against Assistant Engineer Ashok Kumar Panda, R&B Division-III, Bhubaneswar, has led to the discovery of a vast array of properties and assets, sparking concerns about disproportionate wealth. On the third day of the ongoing vigilance investigation, authorities uncovered a substantial list of properties registered in Panda’s name, as well as in the names of his family members and associates.

The vigilance team has identified the following properties and assets:

– Multiple flats in Bhubaneswar, including Royal Habitat, Jatani; Grace Apartment; Grand Awas, Fulnakahara, Cuttack; Utkal Utopia, Pahala; and Vipul Garden

– Shopping spaces, including No. 618 at DLF Cyber City and two commercial shops at Utkal Kanika Galleria

– A four-storeyed residential building at Somnath Garden, Dumduma, Bhubaneswar

– House No. LIG-356 in Dumduma Housing Board Colony, Bhubaneswar

– Eight high-value land plots in Bhubaneswar and Puri

– Cash amounting to ₹1,33,520

– Gold jewellery weighing 125.330 grams and silver ornaments weighing 117.100 grams

– Bank and postal deposits worth ₹37.97 lakhs

– One four-wheeler (Volkswagen Polo)

– Household articles worth approximately ₹21 lakhs

Vigilance sources confirm that investigations into disproportionate assets are intensifying as more benami properties and transactions come to light. Special teams have been deployed to verify the mode of acquisition of these properties. The search operation is ongoing.

The discovery of such a vast array of properties and assets has raised questions about the source of Panda’s wealth and whether it is proportionate to his known sources of income. The vigilance investigation aims to uncover the truth behind Panda’s alleged corruption and disproportionate assets.
