Sundargarh: The body of the second youth, who had gone missing after being swept away by strong currents of the Ib river, has been recovered today.
The body recovered from the river has been identified as that of Jaynarayan Patra. The recovery was made 42 hours after the first body, that of Roshan Paswan, was found.
According to reports, the youths, identified as Roshan Pashwan and Jaynarayan Patra from Govindpur police station area in Sambalpur district, were bathing at the scenic spot of Kanakunda on Wednesday when they were swept away by the strong currents.
Earlier in the morning, Roshan Paswan’s body was recovered after nearly 40 hours. His family members identified him by a tattoo on his hand.
The fire department was involved in the rescue operations for three days, and their efforts finally led to the recovery of both bodies. The bodies were recovered from different locations, with Roshan’s body found stuck between rocks near Mayabahal Dangaghat in Jamuna Panchayat, followed by Jaynarayan’s body found near Kukuridihi.
