Angul: As many as 10 jawans sustained injuries after a traveller van carrying 14 jawans of the OSAP Second Battalion collided with a truck in Angul district in the wee hours of Saturday.
The road accident occurred on Saturday at around 4:40 am near Mundasahi Chowk on National Highway 55.
The injured jawans were immediately rushed to the Angul District Headquarters Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. The condition of seven jawans is stated to be critical, and five of them have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for further treatment.
The traveller was reportedly on its way from Jharsuguda to Chandaka when the accident occurred. The police have taken cognisance of the incident, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
