Bhubaneswar: The body of a Pattamundai college student who died after setting herself ablaze over blackmailing by a male friend was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for post-mortem. The decision to shift the body was made to ensure a thorough investigation with the help of expert doctors and advanced facilities.

According to reports, her body was shifted from the Kendrapada District Headquarters Hospital morgue to SCB Medical College and Hospital this morning.

It is pertinent to mention that the victim had set herself on fire at her home on Wednesday, allegedly due to relentless blackmailing by her boyfriend. Pattamundai police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the matter.

The post-mortem report at SCB Medical College is expected to provide more clarity on the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
