Bhubaneswar: The Additional District and Sessions Judge-III in Cuttack has directed the Crime Branch to produce the case diary for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper leak case.
This development comes ahead of the bail hearing for Nihar Mohanty, Vice President of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), who was arrested for his alleged involvement in the scandal.
The bail petition of Nihar Mohanty, the eighth accused in the case, will be heard on August 18.
According to the investigation, Mohanty allegedly shared the question paper with data entry operator Jitan Moharana, who then leaked it to other accused individuals. The Crime Branch has seized electronic devices and is scrutinising financial transactions related to the leak.
The investigation has also revealed that Mohanty had suspicious relations with Moharana and deliberately gave him laptop access, leading to the leak. The Crime Branch is now conducting a financial investigation and probing involvement of other individuals.
