Bhubaneswar: Threat messages have been found near the Puri Jagannath Temple, raising concerns over the security of the sacred shrine. The messages, found on the walls of the temple’s southern Parikrama Marg, appear to be warnings of a potential terrorist attack.
According to reports, threatening messages were discovered on the wall of a temple near the entrance to the Balisahi path, a popular route for devotees to enter the Puri Jagannath Temple. The messages, found at two locations, appear to warn of a potential terrorist attack on the temple. Not only were the threatening messages found, but decorative lights in the area were also vandalised.
Upon being informed, police launched an investigation into the matter and are trying to identify the miscreants responsible for writing the threatening messages and determining their motives.
It is pertinent to mention that this is not the first time security concerns have been raised at the Puri Jagannath Temple. In the past, there have been instances of unidentified persons entering the temple premises, including those attempting to climb the walls or sneaking in with hidden cameras.
