Bhubaneswar: Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan made a significant announcement on the sidelines of the 79th Independence Day celebrations in Puri stating that the Srimandir Managing Committee will be formed within the next week.
Under the Committee’s supervision, meticulous count and verification of the Ratna Bhandar’s jewels and valuables will be conducted in the presence of two senior RBI officials, informed the Minister.
Addressing the gathering after hoisting the national flag at Talabania Sports Complex in Puri, the Law Minister said, “Managing Committee will be formed within the next three to five days or a week at most. Following this, the committee will grant approval, enabling the high-level committee to commence its work. Subsequently, two RBI officials will conduct an assessment and documentation of the Ratna Bhandar’s valuables in the presence of the committee members, with the entire process expected to be completed within a week.”
It is pertinent to mention that the Srimandir Managing Committee has been defunct since its tenure ended in August 2024, leading to concerns over administrative inaction on critical matters like the Ratna Bhandar inventory.
