Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day by emphasizing the importance of “Odia Asmita” as the fourth pillar of the state’s development model. He highlighted its intrinsic link with Jagannath culture and announced plans to establish Jagannath Dham as a world-class historical, religious, and cultural tourist destination.
The government aims to develop Puri into a metropolitan city and has already started constructing a state-of-the-art Shri Jagannath Museum, Library, Research Center, Interpretation Center, and Aquarium. Additionally, Odia has been made mandatory in official government communications.
Majhi also launched the Mahapurush Adarsh Gram Yojana, which will transform the birthplaces of Odisha’s great personalities into model villages. This initiative will serve as a tribute to their legacy. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises and outlined a vision for Odisha’s development, focusing on economic growth, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and job creation.
